New Year's Eve

Our hotel in Prague had a big New Year's spread with everything you can imagine, including many delicious desserts:

There was even a live band.

 

We tried a little bit of everything . . .

 

And generally had a blast!

Prague--beautiful weather

We had beautiful weather in Prague today. It was sunny and not too cold. We saw the Prague castle, the cathedral, the Charles bridge, the John Lennon wall, and much more. We climbed the tower at the end of the Charles bridge and took pictures of the amazing view of the castle.

We noticed many women wearing fur hats and/or coats. Toddlers are in little sleeping bags that attach to their strollers. They look very comfy going around town.

We had a great lunch of traditional dumplings--some people had duck, pork, soup, or chicken with the dumplings.

Last night we saw the astronomical clock and went to a Christmas market in the old town square. We ate chicken kebabs, ham, and a traditional Czech pastry that is wound around a rod, baked in the fire, then rolled in sugar, cinnamon, and almonds. There was a big beautiful Christmas tree and a band playing. We also went on a ghost tour in the dark and heard many legends about murdered and executed people. The students captured some spirits on their cameras when we were underground in the old city.

Prague

We made it to Prague and checked into our hotel. We are going to explore the city is afternoon. Tonight we take a ghost tour by lantern light.

Detroit

We made it to Detroit . . . A nice Best Western at 2|:30 in the morning.

 

We hope to be on a 4 pm flight to Amsterdam.

Stuck in Omaha

We are still in Omaha at 5:30 pm. We did not get a flight, but we did get free snacks.

everyone is still in good spirits. we hope to get to Mn tonight, then Detroit, then Amsterdam tomorrow. Stay tuned . . .

Ready to go!

Here we are at the Omaha airport ready to go. Everyone made it through security . . . Now we are hoping our first flight isn't delayed! We need to make it to Minneapolis for our connection to Amsterdam.
